By building acoustics we mean everything that concerns sound and vibrations in a building. This can be anything from sound-proofing between rooms, resonance times in large offices and framework sound from installations to traffic noise indoors. In most cases, the work is about removing sound, but in some applications it concerns creating the right sound, a certain acoustic experience, for example in concert halls or lecture rooms. That application is described more closely under Room Acoustics.
The correct acoustic measures are important for the building to function and be able to be used as intended. Solutions must therefore be adapted to the basic pre-conditions of the building and to the specific requirements of the area of use. Building acoustics are therefore a very important component in the planning of construction projects. We work in close relation with builders, contractors, architect and other consultants in the planning and construction of buildings. This has given us the broad competence and long experience of construction and installation technique we possess today.
ACAD strives to produce simple, practicable solutions. We are often asked to take over projects where proposed solutions tend to become impracticable or far too costly. After re-working the solutions, they are presented in a report form that the contractor can use directly.
With experience and various calculation methods, we can optimise measures for a satisfactory sound environment. Using PC-based analysis tools, we can simulate the acoustical properties for different building parts, machine setups and room conditions.
