Room Acoustics

Room acoustics are a matter of how the room should be planned in order to provide the right acoustic properties for their purpose. Room acoustics are influenced by the shape, dimensions and materials of the room and to a very high degree by its furnishings.

Simple acoustic requirements may consist of reducing sound levels that are generated in the room. This may be a large office, a playroom, sport halls, industrial halls, etc. In other rooms it is desired that the room enable and strengthen contact, such as in auditoriums, conference rooms, concert venues and churches.

In many rooms, variability is desired so that the room can be adapted to different activities with varying demands.
